Ann has worked in the private and public sector for local and state government and for one of the top advertising agencies in Columbia, SC. Since her start in newspapers, she has worked for the City of Columbia, SC Department of Mental Retardation, SC Technical College System, Municipal Association of South Carolina and Semaphore Inc.
Ann works with clients to help them develop and implement creative marketing strategies and to oversee the marketing and public relations function of their organization. She has worked with economic development clients, non-profits, businesses, educational groups, cities and towns and state government.
Ann has given back to the community by serving on volunteer boards including SC State Library Foundation, SC Business Initiative, Girl Scouts of the Congaree Area, Columbia Appearance Commission, Columbia Green, the Carolina Carillon Board and currently as chair of the board for the South Carolina Business Initiative and on the board of the SC State Library Foundation. She has been active in the Columbia Media Club and the Columbia Executive Owners Association. Ann is also a member of the Rotary Club of Columbia and currently serves on its board.
In 2002, former SC Governor Jim Hodges recognized Ann’s volunteer work with the Girl Scouts of the Congaree Area by awarding her the Order of the Palmetto, South Carolina’s highest civilian award.
